Home School Physical Education & Karate Program
6 Week Home School Physical Education and Karate Program geared to get your child physically active, mentally aware and beaming with self-confidence.
This exciting program is run by Instructor Tara Smith, who has won numerous awards and titles relevant to academic teaching as well as in martial arts. She is certified in Regular and Special Education K-6. She taught in elementary school for seven years and continues to teach in martial arts. Many of her titles include: Masters Degree in Teaching, Endorsement in Special Education, 2nd Degree Black Belt/Steve Burns Fighting System, 1st Degree Black Belt Steve Mann Fighting System, 1st Degree Black Belt Clark Walters/Blackhawk Way of the Hawk and Two Time U.S. Kickboxing Champion.
Program Overview:
- 15 minute warm up and stretching which consists of running relays, music movements, jumping jacks, circuits, races and obstacle course. Warm ups will change daily to ensure variety.
- 20 minutes of Self-Defense and Karate Program which includes dealing with bullies, walk away from fights, stranger danger, safety tips, self-esteem building, group cooperation activities, karate basics, rolls, falls, bag work and overall conditioning training.
- 20 minutes of P.E. games to include capture the flag, ball games, karate dodge ball, karate baseball, bowling, bean bag games and parachute activities.
